💙 A Little Update From Me... Things Are Tough Right Now 💙
Hi everyone...
It's me again.
I'm still in hospital.
I know it's been a little while since my last update, and I wish I had happier news to share. Sadly, I'm still fighting a really tough battle.
Even though my pneumonia has been treated, my lungs are still struggling.
At the moment I'm on the highest level of Vapotherm that someone my size can have. It helps me breathe and keeps my oxygen levels where they need to be. If it's taken away, my oxygen levels fall, so for now I need every bit of help it can give me.
The physios have been working so hard with me every single day. They've recently started using something called a cough assist machine to help me clear all the mucus from my chest because my little body just can't cough strongly enough on its own. It's not very comfortable, but everyone hopes it will help my lungs get stronger.
Some days are a little better than others.
Some days are really scary.
I've been very sleepy recently because my body is working so incredibly hard just to breathe. Watching me like this has been heartbreaking for Mummy and Daddy. They barely leave my side, day or night. They celebrate every tiny improvement with me, and they hold my hand through every setback too.
My big brother Archie and my big sister Dollie are being so incredibly brave as well. They miss having me at home more than anything, but they keep cheering me on from wherever they are. They remind me every single day why I have to keep fighting.
Please don't stop believing in me.
I've surprised people before.
I've overcome things that once seemed impossible.
So while this is the biggest battle I've faced so far, I'm still here... and I'm still fighting with everything my little body has.
Thank you to every single one of you who continues to send messages, prayers, cards, love and support. Mummy and Daddy read so many of them to me, and although I can't answer, I know I'm surrounded by people who care.
Please keep me in your thoughts over the next few days.
